2014-2015 Election Results

The ARLIS/NA-NC 2014-2015 election results are in! 

Dayna Holz was unanimously elected as Vice-Chair/Chair Elect of the Northern California Chapter. Dayna is Art & Music Librarian at the Berkeley Public Library, and a second-time chapter officer. Mary Wegmann, a new member of the chapter, was unanimously elected as Secretary/Treasurer. Mary is Assistant Librarian/Interim Library Director at the Gellert Library at Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, California. Both Dayna and Mary bring a valuable combination of professional experience and a desire to see the chapter continue to thrive and grow under their leadership. 

Please join me in welcoming Dayna and Mary to their new officer positions. Congratulations to you both!

Fall Chapter Meeting Photos

Hello Everyone,

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! Thanks again to everyone who attended our fall meeting on November 15th at California College of the Arts (CCA) and San Francisco Center for the Book (SFCB). We had excellent member turnout, which I am happy to report included several new faces. Overall, I think that the meeting was a resounding success!

Fall Meeting - November 15, 2013

Please join us for our fall meeting at the San Francisco campus of California College of the Arts (CCA) on Friday, November 15, 2013. We will meet at 8:30 am in the Simpson Library for coffee and refreshments. After our business meeting and discussions, we will walk over to the San Francisco Center for the Book (SFCB) where we will be treated to a tour from 10-11 am. We will then head back to CCA for a tour of the Simpson Library and its industrial designer archive collection. The tours will be followed by lunch at one of the nearby restaurants and an optional visit to the CCA Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts.

Directions:
CCA Simpson Library is located at 1111 8th Street, San Francisco, CA 94107 on the first floor.

Here's the information for our local chapter's spring meeting!
Co-hosted by the Visual Resource Association (VRA) Northern California Chapter, the meeting will take place at the Aviation Museum & Library, San Francisco International Airport.

Lunch in the pre-security International Terminal, Main Hall South Food Court (near Boarding Area A) and self guided exploration of the SFO Museum exhibitions will follow the tour for those interested in attending.

Spring Meeting - Save the Date

Please Save the Date!

Join us on Friday, May 24 for the spring meeting of the ARLIS/NA Northern California Chapter. After a successful joint meeting last year with the Visual Resources Association (VRA) Northern California Chapter, we've decided to join forces again this spring!

We'll be meeting at the San Francisco Airport (SFO) Aviation Museum and Library. As usual, we will meet for morning refreshments with a meeting, lunch, and tours to follow.

We will have more details shortly, so please stay tuned!

Ann Gilbert Travel Award

Sarita Hinojos, chapter chair, has been awarded the Ann Gilbert Travel Award. The award is given to chapter officers to help them attend the annual ARLIS/NA Annual Conference. Next week, Sarita will be headed to Pasadena for her very first conference!

2013-2014 Election Results!

It is my pleasure to announce that our ARLIS/NA-NC 2013-2014 election results are in! Carrie McDade, currently Instruction & Outreach Librarian at Sonoma State University, was elected as Vice Chair/Chair-Elect, and Lauren MacDonald, Instruction Librarian and Art History & Art Appreciation Instructor at Reedley College, was elected as Secretary/Treasurer. Both Carrie and Lauren bring valuable art and library instruction and outreach experience as well as a passion for the fine arts, which will surely prove to be valuable assets for our chapter. Please join me in welcoming Carrie and Lauren to their new officer positions. Congratulations to you both!
