2013-2014 Election Results!

It is my pleasure to announce that our ARLIS/NA-NC 2013-2014 election results are in! Carrie McDade, currently Instruction & Outreach Librarian at Sonoma State University, was elected as Vice Chair/Chair-Elect, and Lauren MacDonald, Instruction Librarian and Art History & Art Appreciation Instructor at Reedley College, was elected as Secretary/Treasurer. Both Carrie and Lauren bring valuable art and library instruction and outreach experience as well as a passion for the fine arts, which will surely prove to be valuable assets for our chapter. Please join me in welcoming Carrie and Lauren to their new officer positions. Congratulations to you both!

We have now set up the ability to renew your membership or join the chapter online with your credit or debit cards, or through your PayPal account. We have also added a donate button at the bottom of the site if you would like to make a gift to the ARLIS/NA-NC Ann Gilbert Travel Award Fund, give to the Welcome Party Fund, or just make a general donation to the chapter.

Photos from our Fall meeting can be viewed here. A big thank you to Darlene Tong from San Francisco State University's J. Paul Leonard Library for working with us to plan the tour. Attendees had the opportunity to see many aspects of the recently renovated library, including the new home for the Sutro Library, a branch of the California State Library that contains a wealth of genealogical resources and rare books. More details about the award-winning renovation are here. Thanks to all who attended!

Please join us on Friday, November 16 for the ARLIS/NA-Northern California Chapter’s Fall Business Meeting at San Francisco State University’s newly remodeled Leonard Library. SF State librarian, Darlene Tong, has organized several very exciting tours of the library, the Sutro library, and the special collections. If you plan on attending, please RSVP by Friday, November 9 by emailing leiaycasey@gmail.com.

For lunch, Darlene will make reservations at SF State’s Vista Room. If you would like to join us, please let me know in your RSVP and bring $15 cash/check.
