New ARLIS-CA Listserv

Below is some information of interest to ARLIS/NA Northern & Southern California Chapter members.

We
now have a new listserv that is hosted by ARLIS/NA. Everyone who was a subscriber to the previously active CSU East Bay listserv has been automatically signed up with the new one, so no need to re-subscribe! However, newer Northern and Southern California Chapter members may want to take advantage now and subscribe to the new listserv.

Please see the "how-to" list below for further information regarding the new listserv. If you have specific questions, please do not hesitate to contact one of the co-moderators: Greg Borman bormang2@gmail.com (Northern California Chapter), or Krista Ivy
krista.ivy@ucr.edu (Southern California Chapter).

Big thanks go out to Liz Ginno, who moderated the former CSU East Bay listserv!

Sincerely,

Greg Borman
Secretary/Treasurer
ARLIS/NA Northern California Chapter

Krista Ivy
Chair
ARLIS/NA Southern California Chapter

This prevents other subscribers from receiving your automatic "out-of-office" reply every time they post to the list. Those who want to read the listserv mail they missed while away can do so through the archives.

  1. Send an email message to listserv@lsv.arlisna.org with the subject line blank.
  2. In the body of your message, type ONLY the following (no signature):
    SET ARLIS-CA NOMAIL
  3. To reset your subscription follow the same steps substituting the command:

Incoming Vice-Chair!

It is my pleasure to announce that Sarita Hinojos, currently a student of San Jose State’s School of Library and Information Science, was elected as Vice Chair/Chair-Elect for ARLIS/NA NC at our fall 2011 meeting, and has accepted the position! Sarita brings a welcome perspective regarding outreach and recruitment of students and new professionals, along with unbridled enthusiasm. Please join me in welcoming Sarita into her new role in 2012. She joins an excellent team of Leia Casey, incoming chair, and Greg Borman, secretary/treasurer.
