The ARLIS/NA Northern California (ARLIS/NA-NC) Nominating
Committee is currently seeking nominees for the position of Vice-Chair/Chair
Elect and Secretary/Treasurer.
The Vice-Chair/Chair Elect position will commence as Vice-Chair on
January 1, 2018 and assume the Chair position on January 1, 2019. The Secretary/Treasurer
position will commence on January 1, 2018 for two years.
Anyone interested in serving can self-nominate by sending the Committee a brief statement of interest and a short biography describing your professional qualifications or a current resume/CV. You may also submit the name of an ARLIS/NA-NC colleague to the Nominating Committee.
According to the chapter
bylaws, the Vice-Chair/Chair Elect is responsible for carrying out the
following duties
The Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect
(2 year appointment: 1 year as Vice-Chair, 1 year as Chair) shall act as
executive officer in the event the Chair is unable to serve; shall act as the
program chair; shall assist in the planning of the activities of the Chapter;
and shall draft and send out the Chapter's annual report.
According to the chapter
bylaws, the Secretary/Treasurer is
responsible for carrying out the following duties:
Secretary/Treasurer (2 year appointment) shall be responsible for:
a. the announcements of meetings; b. the keeping of minutes of the meetings of
the Chapter; c. the handling of all financial accounts of the Chapter; d.
sending reports of meetings of the Chapter to the Chapters Liaison within
thirty (30) days of the meeting.
Serving as a chapter officer has many benefits, including
gaining valuable leadership experience and ensuring that the ARLIS/NA-NC
Chapter meets the needs of our local network of art information professionals.
